Here we go again!!!

It was great to see all of you, I sent out an e-mail to all of the e-mail addresses that I had. If you happen to read this blog and would like to be on the list, just post your address in a comment and we will see what we can do.

After seeing all of you at convention, I remembered why I love to come to camp every year! You guys are full of energy! Once upon a time, I could have said that! I enjoyed spending time with you guys down at the "Afterglow", I think that is what they called it. I wish we could have done it all night! I think that we forget about each other after camp cause we no longer talk on an everyday basis, and then when we see each other, it is like we have never been apart! I hope that you guys are continuing to fullfill the calling that God placed in your heart while you were at camp. God has a mightly work for all of you! REMEMBER, "Life is hard, but God is good". As Sister Geneva had you do in the prayer garder, LEARN the scripture and use it to fight your battles for you. There is nothing you can go through that someone in the bible didn't face first. So remember this also, "YOU can do all things through Christ which strengthens you". Again I miss you people and if you need me, please feel free to contact me, You have my digits!

Well it's been a few weeks since camp, so how's everyone doing? From what I hear, a few of you are still keeping in touch! Great to hear. Please drop me a comment when you get a chance. I will try to keep everyone posted on upcoming events. Speaking of that, the State Convention is coming up soon. Please tell everyone about it. I would love to have everyone over for pizza or just to hang out.

Day 5 "Lost"

Well, today was the last day of Senior Camp 2008. I will say this was one of the most enjoyable groups of campers we have had in many years! We woke this morning with a devotion in the prayer garden with Sis Davis. We concluded the devotion honoring 4 campers that have graduated Senior camp and will be heading off to college. Way to go Britney, Adam, Josh, and Noel!!!

After breakfast we cleaned the campgrounds and prepared it for the next camp coming up in a few weeks. There were plenty of sad and happy good byes for everyone! I am looking forward to see what God has in store for this awesome group of kids!!!

Stay in touch everyone!!!

Day 4 "Lost"

This morning after our early devotion in the prayer garden, we headed to the dining hall for some great food. After some time of camp clean up we started the morning off with some cool games. The first contest consisted of each team making their on Pizza! They were judged on the creativity and edibility of each. The campers had a great time competing with each other. One of the other games consisted of each team putting on some plastic gloves and then putting on some women's pantyhose and running to the other side of the room and then returning and passing it on to the next person. This was truly a site to behold!!! Around 11:30 we split up into our groups for class time. The conversations were very interesting to say the least, and I really think everyone walked away learning a lot.

Lunch was... you guessed it... "PIZZA"!!!! believe it or not it was very tasty!! After lunch Bro Pat took the campers to the ball field for "fun time" which consisted of shaving cream, Cheetos's and water balloons!!! We had a blast!!! afterwards, we tried out the "skim board/Slip-n-slide"! A fun time was had by all!!!

For dinner/"The Banquet" the cooks served chicken, baked potato's, green beans, and for desert... Chocolate cake. Oh my!!

The evening service was a special one since this was the last night of camp. Bro Pat brought the message and everyone walked away changed! After the alter service, we talked to the campers about not going back to the life they knew and everyone seemed excited and pumped up to return home and make a difference in their communities.

Day 3 "Lost"

We woke this morning to an overcast day following and early morning shower. We met in the prayer garden for our morning devotion led by Sis Davis followed by breakfast consisting of pancakes and bacon. We then sent the campers back to their cabins to clean and get their extra clothes for our field trip to Blanchard Caverns and Creek. We drove everyone to the Caverns for our 10:40 and 11 am appointment. Because of the size of our group, we had to take two different tours into the cave. The caverns were a site to behold. The staff and campers seemed to enjoy the trip. After both groups completed their tours we all loaded up and headed to the creek for some fun in the sun and water. We took a picnic lunch to the creek and just hung out swimming and jumping off the cliffs or just eating and playing around with new and old friends! After the creek we did our annual trip to "Sonic" for drinks/desert for everyone. Not a bad day considering that the chance of rain for the day was 80% and we all knew that it would be raining as soon as we got out of the caves... but Sis Davis prayed and you guessed it... It stayed sunny and dry until it was time to head back to the camp.

As soon as we got back to camp we all split up into our groups for class then headed to dinner. We had a few excited campers tonight because it was "Mexican" night for dinner!!! Due to the showers this evening we decided to have church in the lodge for a more personal setting, and I am glad we did. Bro. Robert brought the message and everyone seemed to respond. We had a great time of sharing and ministering to each other. After the service everyone went to the dining hall for a late snack then it was back to the lodge for some time of fun videos. We finally dismissed everyone back to their cabins about 11:10 so they could get some much needed rest. Trust me, they/we need it!!! :-)

I am really proud of this group of campers and how they all are very interested in the "well being" of each other.

Day 2- "LOST"

Day 2 started with a devotion causing us to consider "Who am I?" Following breakfast & cabin clean up, we set out for the low ropes course to work on team building and thinking outside the box. The campers were split into 4 teams to help build new relationships and friendships. The teams worked well together during the activities of the day. After the ropes course we had a great lunch which included Linda's famous macaroni & cheese. It was so good, the kids had to have left-overs after the evening service. We split the group into 3 age/gender-appropriate classes to introduce transforming and protecting our minds for the 12-15 year olds and the purity classes of True Love Waits for the 15-18 year olds. We then proceeded to the ball fields where the teams played "Ultimate Frisbee & Ultimate Basketball". After an afternoon of competitive recreation, the campers enjoyed free time which included Wii Bowling and Darts as well as tunnel ball and even a few showers and naps. After a spaghetti dinner and a cabin bible study, we all met in the chapel for worship. After the slide-show of pictures from the day's events, several campers from West Memphis sang 2 special songs. We then went right into worship. The Spirit moved and many staff and campers were drawn to the alter for a time of prayer and ministry. Brother Roger then brought the message. The campers were then challenged to examine their lives and make decisions regarding their personal walk with Christ. Many campers were ministered to and blessed. All of the campers are in the cabins and hopefully in bed and not keeping the cabin leaders up. We have a full day planned tomorrow so stay tuned....until then.......

Day one of "Lost"

Camp started with a few ice breaker games on the back deck of the dining hall. We then headed to a devotion in the prayer garden lead by Geneva. Dinner followed with brownies & ice cream for dessert. Everyone met with their cabin groups for a time of sharing before the chapel time. The evening service started with a recap of photos from the day followed by worship and the message was delivered by Andy. Andy ministered and brought the campers down to the alter for a time of prayer. There was a sweet Spirit in the chapel and over the group. Brother Pense took some time after the service to talk with the campers and encourage them with their journey. After service and a snack, we all met in the "Waller Holler" Lodge for our Murder Mystery. Each camper has been given an identity of a citizen from "Waller Holler". Clues were giving out during session #1 in hopes of determining who murdered Professor Davidson, why his body is missing and why Jesse Coleman is missing. The Murder Mystery is based on a Bible story and campers must determine "who done it". Following the mystery session, we met around a campfire, roasted marshmallows, and just talked. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We're looking forward to tomorrow.....stay tuned.
